Welcome to Life on Roads – our special place where adventure, freedom, and family come together.
What started years ago as a simple way to document our travels has evolved into something much bigger – a journey that led us to van life. For us, van life is more than just a way to travel; it’s a lifestyle where all our passions, dreams, and needs merge into one perfect experience. It’s about embracing the unknown, stepping outside the comfort zone, and truly living in the moment.
Now, as parents, our journey has taken on new meaning. Life on the road with a little one comes with its challenges, but it has only reinforced what we believe in: following your dreams, living differently, and making every moment count.

About the van
Meet our home on wheels – a 2010 Fiat Ducato, the longest and highest version, giving us all the space we need for our adventures. In 2023, we took on the challenge of converting it ourselves, transforming an empty cargo van into a fully functional, off-grid tiny home.
With a 410W solar panel on the roof and a large battery bank, we have all the power we need, no matter where we park. A 70-liter water tank and a 5kg propane tank keep us self-sufficient, while our toilet and outdoor hot shower add comfort to life on the road. To make our travels even smoother, we’ve got two electric bikes and plenty of smart storage solutions.
Whether we’re deep in nature or exploring new cities, our van gives us the freedom to roam without limits. You can learn more about the building process and see the final result right here on our website.

The Campervan Build 🚐
In March 2023, I bought a Fiat Ducato 2010, a former demo van used to showcase company products and tools. While it came with some modifications, most of them didn’t work—the electricity was faulty, the awning was broken, a window leaked, and the heating was unreliable. I spent the next year fixing issues and converting it into a campervan. It wasn’t easy, and since I had never done anything like this before, I’m incredibly proud of the final result.
Learning the Vanlife in Italy 🇮🇹
We spent a month driving across Italy, searching for the perfect spot to ease into vanlife. Things didn’t go as planned—we never found that one ideal place. But along the way, we realized something even more important: we were ready to take this lifestyle anywhere.
Autumn Vanlife Dream in Turkey 🇹🇷
This was it—the trip I had always imagined when dreaming about vanlife. Freedom, safety, perfect weather, easy seaside parking, and no trouble finding water or services. Turkey exceeded our expectations, and despite a few flaws, we discovered it to be a vanlife paradise.
Campervan vs. Plane: Our 7-Day Escape to Zadar 🇭🇷
What started as a rainy, uncertain week turned into an unforgettable 2,020 km road trip in our campervan—with Croatia’s coastline as the final reward. Originally planning to hit the Overland Festival in Slovakia, our plans got washed out by bad weather forecasts and a stubborn spring cold. But instead of staying home, we pivoted.
Zadar was calling.
Epic USA Road Trip 🇺🇸
In 2016, we set out on the craziest adventure of our lives—a 56-day road trip across the USA. Covering 20,000 kilometers, we completed two full circles—one through the East, one through the West—crossing 20 states, exploring 10 national parks, and visiting countless cities.
6 Months Backpacking in ASIA
In 2018, we set off on an unforgettable journey—a 6-month backpacking trip through Southeast Asia. With nothing but our backpacks and an open mind, we traveled through six incredible countries, embracing adventure at every turn.
